I will be sworn in on April 3, 2017.
In the meanwhile I am working on expressing specific, measurable goals in the role of Village Trustee. My overarching goal is to bring the the principles — in attitude and deed — of open government to Sea Cliff Village Government. Here is what the 2009 U.S. Open Government Directive says about Open Government (emphasis is mine):
“The three principles of transparency, participation, and collaboration form the cornerstone of an open government.
Transparency promotes accountability by providing the public with information about what the Government is doing.
Participation allows members of the public to contribute ideas and expertise so that their government can make policies with the benefit of information that is widely dispersed in society.
Collaboration improves the effectiveness of Government by encouraging partnerships and cooperation… ”
If you have ideas about making our Village government more open and /or ideas about how to measure this work, please share them with me.
